A Gift from the Hand and the Heart

This needle point production was made by my sister in law Melissa Kneller about 15 years ago. I loved it the day I recieved it and I love it even more today. I just got it reframed and finally back up on a wall. It went through 4 moves and the original frame and glass got broken. So it was on my to do list for a long time and I purposed to just get it done.... here it is!!! It is a timeless piece because it is from God's word; Proverbs 31, about the virtuous woman. Now that I have been married 16 years, blessed with 3 children to raise and a home to manage and a job outside of the home to do. I realize and have a greater appreciation for this woman in Proverbs. She also had alot to do but she maintained her core value of serving others, she took her responsibility to heart for the love of her God, her husband, her children, and others in her realm of influence. Who knows if she did all of this at one time, it was more likely it was over a course of time. It was put in the Bible for a reason,not to burden us but to encourage us as women to do our job as Queens of our homes with excellence. The rewards are not always immediate and the daily jobs can be just that.... so daily and mundane, it takes alot of work for me sometimes to keep my attitude in line and the end GOAL in mind. At the end of Proverbs 31 it says her children and husband rise up and called her blessed and her husband praises her:

"Many women do noble things,but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, beauty is vain and fleeting; BUT a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned,and let her works bring her praise in the city gate. So the reason she was able to accomplish so much with integrity and excellence is because she was a woman who feared the Lord, which inspired her to serve so well and meet the needs of her family.

So Melissa, thanks again for this wonderful gift, I treasure it and will pass it on to my daughter, Celina someday. Gifts fom the hand and heart are some of the best gifts to get and to receive.
